Do you know that feeling you get when
you have taken a nice deep breath? It is a cleansing relaxing nurturing satisfying experience. How is your breathing right
now? Don't we generally assume it is OK? What if it could be more useful?
By increasing your awareness of your
own breathing patterns and shifting to more abdominal breathing, you can reduce the muscle tension and anxiety present with
stress-related symptoms or thoughts. Diaphragmatic breathing is the easiest way to evoke the relaxation response. We can also
change our mental and physical states by the way we breathe.
